2012: A Decade of Flight

For 10 years, Arizona Spa Girls has made the spa experience more accessible for beauty and wellness enthusiasts worldwide. We have diligently built a comprehensive directory to literally thousands of Arizona spas and salons with descriptions, reviews, directions and insider tips. Every summer, we roll up our sleeves and break out the sunscreen to coordinate the annual Summer Spaaah Series events as well as host countless community events and contests. AZSpaGirls.com is a resource for exclusive spa and salon deals and insider spa news, and we will very soon be introducing a new way to make our deals even more accessible. To keep you glowing inside and out, we also have a syndicated beauty blog, home spa recipes, expert advice from local industry insiders, spa etiquette and tips and events. Arizona Spa Girls is the premier little pink book to feeling good inside and out!

It is with a heart bursting with gratitude and appreciation that I extend my thanks to all our supporters, advertisers, fans, followers, charity partners and honorary Spa Girls (you know who you are!) for 10 amazing years of spreading the message that the spa experience is not a luxury set aside for a fortunate few but for the “rest of us!” A special thanks to the Spa Boy for all his technical engineering and creating many (many, many!) versions of our websites, working long nights and weekends to keep our dream alive and empowering me to help others through our work.

Thank you all and wishing you peace, prosperity and endless good hair days! — Lisa

2010: AZ Spa Girls Featured on National News

Arizona Spa Girls founder, Lisa Kasanicky, was interviewed by ABC News on “How to Spa” on location at the Golden Door Spa in Carefree, Arizona. The segment featured the Spa Girl reluctantly exercising on a treadmill while the team got to do the heavy lifting as models for massages and pool lounging in the background. If you watch closely, you’ll catch a glimpse of the Spa Boy doing yoga. A very fun day for the AZ Spa Girls team!

That same year, Kasanicky was interviewed by Martha Stewart Living Radio host Betsy Karetnick and guest host Sunny Anderson on spa etiquette. The best part of the interview? Seeing “Martha Stewart” pop up on our caller ID at 4:00 a.m. that morning.

2009: AZ Spa Girls Goes to Print

Arizona Spa Girls founder, Lisa Kasanicky, landed a gig to write The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Girlfriend Getaways for the Penguin Group. While the book focuses on fun, national travel destinations for female travelers (and definitely not idiots!), the book is sprinkled with inspirational messages softly nudging busy women to take time out for themselves and their friends for sanity’s sake. Not surprisingly, the book has one very fat spa chapter.

This year also brought Arizona Spa Girls foray into print with their first-ever mini magazine, the SpaBound Summer Passport. Part glossy, part coupon book, the SpaBound Summer Passport was an upscale print product with exclusive clip-and-go special offers from luxury spas and salons throughout greater Phoenix and Scottsdale. Sprinkled with entertaining and informative spa lifestyle articles, each page of the coffee table quality book painted an enticing picture of the rich spa and salon landscape that defines the Valley of the Sun. A future digital version is in the works!
